Audit Scotland is an agency of the Department of Budget and Management who is responsible for Auditing most of the Republic of Scotland's Public Organisations. It is headed by the Director of Audit Scotland.

The role of Audit Scotland is to provide the Auditor General for Scotland and the Accounts Commission for Scotland with the services they need to carry out their duties.
